Name | Blair Dinwoodie |
Birthplace/Date | Edinburgh, 9 June 1979 |
Where Do You Live | Edinburgh |
Primary School | Wardie Primary School, (near Leith) Edinburgh |
Secondary School | Trinity Academy - even closer to Fester Road than Wardie was, but thankfully I remained strong! |
How long a Hearts Supporter | 21-30 Years |
First Hearts match | Hearts v Clyde, League Cup, 1984ish I
think....can't even remember the score.
Seen many Saturday home matches since (thanks Dad), including the great 1985/1986 season - I'm just gutted I was too young to know what all that meant at the time, and more gutted I don't remember more of it myself now.... Had my season ticket in the Wheatfield Stand for three years now. |
How long a member of London Hearts | Not A Member |
How did you find out about London Hearts | Read a review that said it was the best Hearts website around, came for a look and 100% agree so far! |
Favourite all time Hearts Player | Thomas Flogel
John Robertson Mickey Cameron Alan McLaren |
Most memorable Game | Rangers 1 - 2 Hearts, Cup Final, May 1998
Hearts 4 - 2 Slavia Prague, UEFA Cup, 1994 I think, Glynn Snoddin's free Kick still makes me smile! vfb Stuttgart 1 - 0 Hearts, my first European away trip. German beer is great! Any win against Celtic (especially the 3 - 1 match at Tynie when we came from behind, and Henry had that wondersave from a Tommy Coyne header). Hibs 0 - 4 Hearts, the Jim Hamilton show at Fester Road a few seasons back. The Scottish Cup Match in 1994 at Fester Road, when Fozzie scored a late, undeserved but brilliant winner! Rangers 0 - 3 Hearts, when Al "Magic" Johnston got his Ibrox hat-trick! |
How often do you get to games | Season Ticket Holder, so all home games and about half of the away games (see next question). |
Favourite English team | Manchester City - am at Maine Road every opportunity when Hearts are away and City at home. |
Lowest moment | Rangers second goal in the 1996 Scottish Cup
Final.
After what Giles had down for us that season, I think we all felt like crying when he lost that one and we realised our chance had gone.... |
Best Hearts goal | Glynn Snoddin's free kick against Slavia Prague
at Tynecastle in the UEFA Cup.
Robbo - too many to mention..... Wayne Foster, the one where he broke upfield, closed his eyes and put the vermin out of the Scottish Cup through Jim Leightons legs at Fester Road in 1994. All the sweeter given that Hibs had peed all over us, and I got my mugshot in the paper the next day beside Fozzie celebrating on the terracing wall at Fester Road! Darren Jackson, Hearts v Aberdeen, end of last season at Pittodrie. Tam Flogel, Hearts away to St Johnstone at Perth, first game of the 1999/2000 season. |
Best thing about being a Jambo | We have the best, most loyal fans in Scotland bar none. The first verse of the European Song say it all! It's great to be one of them..... Being able to "stick it up" my Leith friends on many occasions..... |
Proudest moment | The summer of 1998 was brilliant, but proudest moment ever was
Parkhead after the unwashed-weejie-scum (aka Rangers) beat us 4-3 and
stole the Coca-Cola Cup from us. The Hearts support outsung them after the
final whistle. Glorious in defeat, able to see that Hearts had gave their
all, not leaving the ground till after the players had came to see
us....
I'm proud of me, and every other Jambo who sang their lungs out before, during and after the game! Still makes the hairs on the back of my head stand up.... Doing a one man Frank Sinatra/European Song solo in the karioke compo at Hibs Supporters Club after we had beat the vermin low-life 2-1 at Tynie at the end of last season. Thanks to Juanjo and Mr McSwegan for giving me the chance to perform in front of my mates, and their mates that night. Thanks god for letting me survive to tell the tale, at one point I thought the abuse and boo's were going to lead to violence, and I was kinda outnumbered. And before somebody asks, it was only a pound a pint, and I had to catch my mates to collect my money from the bets Hearts had won me! what a way to end a season! |
How did you become a Jambo | I always do what my dad tells me, and thankfully ignore my mum (one's a Jambo, the other a H*b*y, guess who's who?!?). |
