Ten of Hearts the aces.

Veteran striker John Robertson sent Celtic crashing out of the Scottish Coca-Cola Cup last night.

Robertson struck deep into extra-time for the only goal of a pulsating quarter-final.

It was an heroic performance by the Edinburgh side, who had to remould their team with four players suspended after the red card shame against Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday.

They brought in new signing Andy Thorn from Wimbledon at the heart of their defence and he gave a superb display.

Hearts hit more trouble when they had Italian midfielder Stefano Salvatori sent off after 61 minutes for his second bookable offence. Celtic also had their problems, with captain Peter Grant also red-carded for two bookings three minutes into extra-time.

French keeper Gilles Rousset performed heroics to keep Celtic out.

The decisive goal came on 110 minutes when Robertson beat Gordon Marshall with a powerful low shot.
