CUP TRIVIA.

This season's Tennents Scottish Cup has produced 173 goals in the 56 games so far. Highest scores came in the third round ties when Inverness Caley Thistle beat Annan Athletic 8- 1 and Dunfermline eliminated Edinburgh City 7-2.

TOP scorer in this year's competition is a three-way tie. Andy Smith of Dunfermline, Ayr's Ian Ferguson and Derek Adams of Ross County have all hit five goals. Jorg Albertz leads Rangers' scorers with three, while Stephane Adam, Thomas Flogel and Jose Quitongo have all scored two for Hearts.

THE prize for fastest goal of the competition is tied also, with pounds 750 up for grabs. The two quickest so far were scored in the third minute of the third round from Dunfermline's Colin Miller (v Edinburgh City) and St Johnstone's Alan Kernaghan (v Partick Thistle).

DUNDEE keeper Rab Douglas picked up a cheque from sponsors Tennents for pounds 1500 for playing 233 minutes of cup football without conceding a goal.

AN attendance of 50,000 today will push this season's Tennents Scottish Cup crowd figure close to half a million.

TODAY'S finalists have met 276 times in all competitions. Rangers have won 162, Hearts have 62 victories and 52 matches have been drawn.

HEARTS and Rangers have met in the Scottish Cup 27 times before. The first was in the first round of the 1895 competition when Hearts won 2-1, while the last meeting was the 1996 final which Rangers won 5-1.
