HEARTS FEARFUL FOR MIKOLIUNAS

Hearts winger Saulius Mikoliunas will discover his fate on Tuesday when the Scottish Football Association disciplinary committee meet to discuss his barge on assistant referee Andy Davis.

The 20-year-old has been asked to appear in person at Hampden Park after losing control when Rangers were awarded a controversial late penalty at Tynecastle earlier this month.

The Lithuanian was given two red cards by referee Hugh Dallas, for his behaviour towards Davis and for abusive language.

Hearts fear the SFA could hit him hard after their English counterparts punished Southampton midfielder David Prutton with a 10-game ban for a similar offence.

Hearts have since asked the SFA to investigate the "integrity" of the penalty decision, but they themselves will be in the dock after missiles were thrown onto the pitch in the same game.

Bank of Scotland Premier League champions Celtic will also discover what action they face after Fernando Ricksen needed a stitch in a head wound when he was hit by an object during Rangers' Old Firm victory at Celtic Park on February 20.

Drew Herbertson, the SFA's head of refereeing and disciplinary, said: "On the agenda will be two matters from the recent Hearts v Rangers game.

"Mikoliunas will find out what punishment he will face for being sent off for barging into the linesman.

"If the committee find the player guilty then they can impose a penalty on the player.

"The player has been asked to be here and will be advised of the outcome.

"Also on the agenda is the coin-throwing incident at the end of the Hearts v Rangers game.

"Celtic will also be informed of what will be done over the incident in the recent Celtic and Rangers Old Firm game in which Fernando Ricksen was struck by an object."
