ROBBIE A WANTED MAN IN ENGLAND

By Anthony Haggerty

HEARTS star Robbie Neilson is attracting attention from top English Premiership and Championship sides.

It is understood Newcastle United and Wolves have been keeping tabs on him.

The right-back's growing reputation was enhanced further in midweek when he played in the Scotland Future side's 2-0 win over Poland, a game watched by scouts from south of the border. Meanwhile, Hearts' bid to keep Czech star Rudi Skacel could hinge on their attempt to qualify for next season's Champions League.

His agent, Viktor Kolar, has confirmed that if the Jambos finish in the SPL's top two that would automatically trigger an agreement that would see the midfielder sign a long-term deal to stay at Tynecastle.

Skacel is desperate to play in Europe's top competition and is convinced he can get there with the Jambos.

Kolar said: "When Rudi came to the club there was an agreement that he would sign a deal if Hearts finish in the top two and make the Champions League"That still standsbuthemay have to consider his options if that does not happen.

"Rudi is very happy and committed to playing for Hearts. He is really enjoying himself.

"He has a dream to play in the Champions League as he is very competitive, so he would want to stay at Hearts if negotiations went well.

"All parties would be happy if Hearts finish in the top two and then Rudi would probably stay at Tynecastle."

"He wants to help the club reach as high a position in the league as possible. That was the goal and deal we agreed before he started.

"Hearts are trying to reach that goal and things are so far going well for the club and the player.

"Hearts have given him an opportunity and we want to be fair with Vladimir Romanov and the club's management team as they were fair to us.

"Before Rudi came to Hearts he wasn't enjoying his football but now he is and he likes living in Edinburgh.

"There was a managerial change when George Burley left the club and that resulted in a period of uncertainty.

"However, a new coach has come in and there is stability again.

"Rudi is enjoying working under Graham Rix very much."

Bundesliga cracks Werder Bremen are said to be keen on 26-year-old Skacel, who is on a year-long loan from Marseille.

The Burley signing has already banged in 13 goals
