HEARTS TREBLE SIGNING SWOOP

By Gary Ralston

HEARTS are set to parade at least three new signings before the transfer window closes tomorrow.

They have forked out £800,000 on Bosnian midfielder Mirsad Beslija and have agreed a £500,000 fee with FC Thun for full-back Jose Goncalves.

The Jambos will also complete a deal with form er Benfica midfielder Bruno Aguiar within the next 24 hours as Vladimir Romanov tools up for a tilt at the title.

Romanov is also keen to snap up Finnish striker Juho Makela but Hearts are still in discussions about a fee with HJK Helsinki for the £300,000-rated international, who is also wanted by FC Basel.

Romanov confirmed the deals to Record Sport last night from Greece, where he was watching another potential signing target in action.

The Lithuanian tycoon was forced to miss his team's 4-1 defeat of Hibs in the Edinburgh derby because of business commitments. But he renewed his complaints about the tough treatment being handed out to his side after Gary Smith was sent off for lashing out at Saulius Mikoliunas.

Romanov said: "Although I wasn't at the game I was told how crude it was. I am not happy with such a level of football.

"Hibs had every chance to do well against us because we didn't have forwards available or our captain Steven Pressley.

"Despite all these problems we still won.I want to stress how proud and pleased I am.We can still win the title."

Ex-Racing Genk star Beslija, 26, is set to jet to Edinburgh today along with Goncalves, 20, who has spent the last week with the Portuguese Under-21 squad.

Aguiar, 24, has been training with Hearts for the last few weeks after agreeing his release from Benfica and could even be paraded today, though tomorrow is more likely.
