HIBEES PUNTERS CAN MAKE A REAL KILLIN

The ODDs FELLOW
By Chris Hutcheon

DESPITE a turbulent couple of weeks at Tynecastle bookies are still convinced Hearts will snatch Scottish Cup glory after an eight-year wait.

They are favourites ahead of rivals Hibs at 19/20 with SportingOdds and 15/8 with Cbetandtotalbet.

So Jambos are also fancied to triumph in today's Hampden last-four showdown between the capital sides.

Gamebookers offer 11/10 for Valdas Ivanauskas' charges to book their place in the final and betdirect mark up 5/2 against Tony Mowbray's men.

That seems about right given recent form and how this season's derby fixtures have panned out.

So it's Hearts who should be taken to book a Hampden return but for those put off by events behind the scenes at Tynecastle there are a few "safer" bets.

The defensive records of the pair suggest goals could be on the agenda despite the absence of Derek Riordan for Hibs.

In fact, the teams have met 16 times since they last played out a scoreless draw.

And although Hearts have defended well overall this season this looks like a game in which both sides can find the net. Gamebookers' 7/20 for Hibs to register and 9/50 for Jambos look bankers.

Plenty of players are capable of getting goals and those who risk their cash in the scorer markets are spoiled for choice. From a Hibs perspective Chris Killen arguably represents the best value at 8/1 (bet365) to fire his side into a 1-0 lead.

But it's at the other end where shrewd punters should be concentrating. Seven goals in seven matches for Jambos marksman Edgaras Jankauskas (below) makes the Lithuanian the man to follow.

Fill your boots with Stan James' massive 15/8 for the towering hitman to add to his tally at any stage.
