Jankauskas hopeful Hearts can mount title challenge

Last term, The Jambos set the pace for much of the way before finishing 17 points behind the Old Firm outfit.

Hearts have already laid down a marker for the new campaign after a deserved 2-1 victory over the reigning champions on Sunday.

Jankauskas, who missed the game with a hamstring strain, feels the ambitious Edinburgh club have a chance of winning the league this year.

And while the Lithuanian striker concedes it is premature to be discussing the outcome of the title race, he acknowledged confidence is high within the Hearts camp.

"I think we have a chance, as the other teams have," Jankauskas told Sky Sports News.

"It's just the beginning of the season, so maybe it's too early to talk about chances.

"Of course, we are confident and we wish to win the title."
