DADO PRSO may feel like the old man of Rangers - but he believes he can still teach the youngsters a thing or two.

The striker celebrates his 32nd birthday in November, making him one of the more experienced campaigners at Ibrox.

In fact, only goalkeepers Lionel Letizi and Stefan Klos are older than the Croatia international.

He surveys the dressing room and admits he does not know if the players are getting younger or if he is just beginning to feel his age.

But Prso - regarded by manager Paul Le Guen as man of the match in Rangers' 2-0 victory over Hearts on Saturday - insists he still has plenty to offer.

He said: "My date of birth is 1974, but when I look at the birth dates of all the other players it is 1985, 1986 and 1987 and I say: "Ooh la la, what is happening here?'

"But I feel I can still play some good games - I don't feel very old. You need a mix of young and old.

"I wondered how fresh I would be after the World Cup because I didn't have much of a holiday.

"But I felt a little bit better in this game."

Prso won the penalty which allowed Kris Boyd to score his first goal of the new season, before the Scot grabbed his second of the day just two minutes later.

It was Boyd's first start of the season and he knew he had a point to prove after promising Le Guen goals if he gave him a chance.

And Prso has backed last season's top goalscorer in the SPL to repeat his success this term.

"Kris is a strong boy and he has great skill in front of the goal," he said.

"He's the guy who's going to score the goals.

"It was a real team performance and it was nice to see the defence, the midfielders and the strikers all playing well.

"Everyone is settling in well with the new manager.

"We're now getting the pay-off after two poor results."

Draws with Dundee United and Dunfermline were quickly forgotten as a much-needed win propelled Rangers to the top of the table - and Prso admits the victory was crucial.

"We needed the three points, but we also needed a good performance," he said.

"That's what we showed and I'm really pleased for the fans, players and the manager.

"We played well from the beginning to the end.

"It was important to beat Hearts because they are big squad and they are fighting for their Champions League places again.

"But we showed we have a good squad and can play good football."
