Craig Gordon 7 - Scotland keeper was never called on to make a spectacular save and had no chance with the penalty, but as usual he was commanding in his area.

Robbie Neilson 6 - Always looking to break down the right flank, but didn't create any telling damage and occasionally was a bit unsure in defence.

Steven Pressley 6 - Typical gutsy performance by the captain but not too comfortable alongside Christophe Berra and at times his positional sense for high set-pieces was open to question.

Christophe Berra 6 - Like Pressley, never really at ease and he was perhaps a bit undecided too often when under pressure.

Takis Fyssas 6 - As a former Panathanaikos player he was booed by the AEK fans every time he was on the ball. Put in a reasonable shift and nothing more.

Julien Brellier 5 - An important player for Hearts. Booked in 24 minutes for the heinous crime of wearing an earring then ordered off five minutes later for using an elbow.

Saulas Mikoliunas 6 - Work-rate couldn't be faulted but some of his passing left a lot to be desired and basically he didn't really assert himself in midfield where Hearts really needed him.

Neil McCann 5 - Shown a straight red card for a two-footed tackle in 62 minutes but he generally seemed to be behind the beat and never looked fully match fit.

Devidas Cesnauskis 6 - A mediocre performance. Had a soft penalty was awarded against him in 78 minutes and four minutes later he was replaced by Lee Wallace.

Paul Hartley 5 - Should have scored with a header in first half, but after such a long lay-off he was warming to the occasion although never really his imposing self. Substituted in 61 minutes.

Jamie Mole 5 - Played only once before for Hearts and making his European debut, but the teenager wasn't overawed. Forced to increase his work-load after Brellier's sending-off.

Substitutes:
Edgaris Jankauskas 3 - Basically went through the motions as Greeks took control.
Lee Wallace 3 - Didn't have the time to do much at a time when the match had gone.
Mauricio Pinilla 2 - Only given the last few moments with no chance of making an impact.
