Alloa 0 Hearts 4

Hearts coasted to a 4-0 win over Alloa at Recreation Park in last night's CIS cup clash.

Finn Juho Makela did most of the damage by scoring a fine hat-trick, with Bruno Aguiar adding a late fourth with a superb effort from distance.

Alloa finished the match with ten men after Chris Townsley was sent off for two bookable offences by referee Charlie Richmond. However, Alloa manager Allan Maitland felt that the decision was harsh - wouldn't be like Richmond to make such a mistake though would it?!

Valdas Ivanauskas was happy enough with his night's work. He said:

'I said yesterday if the players work hard and we score goals it's an easy game.
'I was happy with how seriously the players understood the situation. It's a good result. We scored some goals and made some more chances, but now we just want to forget about the game and begin to think about Sunday.'

When asked whether or not Makela would now be likely to get an extended run in the team, Valdas said:

'Juho did well, but we have four days.'

Lots of clues there then!

The only downside to the evening were injuries to Mirsad Beslija and Hristos Karipidis. Beslija sustained what could be a broken jaw and will be further assessed by a specialist soon, whereas Karipidis twisted his knee.
