Inverness CT 2-1 Hearts

Inverness player-manager Craig Brewster scored an injury-time winner to bring Hearts' SPL winning run to an end.

The visitors looked threatening before taking the lead after 34 minutes when the unfortunate Ian Black deflected Andrew Driver's cross into the net.

Denis Wyness scored the equaliser after Barry Wilson's volley was parried by Steve Banks after 63 minutes.

Brewster shocked the Edinburgh side when he came off the bench to fire home the winner in injury-time.

Inverness were unchanged from the side which suffered a five-goal defeat by Celtic last week, with player-manager Craig Brewster among the substitutes.

Hearts were looking to continue their recent good league form after last Sunday's 4-2 victory over Rangers.

The Edinburgh club made two changes to the team which recorded that success, with Andrius Velicka and Kestutis Ivaskevicius both handed starts.

Michael Stewart dropped to the bench, while Christian Nade failed to make the squad.

Inverness went on the offensive in the opening stages and tested Hearts goalkeeper Steve Banks when Wyness played the ball into the path of Don Cowie, whose 25-yard shot was comfortably saved.

Cowie's free-kick a minute later found Grant Munro at the back post and the defender's header across goal was hacked away by Christophe Berra.

When the ball came back into the 18-yard box, Wyness turned a volley towards goal, but Banks was well placed to save.

The home side were left to rue their misfortune when Ian Black put through his own net after 34 minutes when he deflected Driver's pass past the despairing Michael Fraser.

Inverness came more into the game after the break and Wyness scored the equaliser in the 63rd minute when he fired home Wilson's cross from close range.

The game looked destined to end in a draw before Brewster's dramatic late entry secured an unlikely victory for Inverness.

The veteran striker lashed the ball home from Alan Morgan's cross to give the SPL basement side a morale-boosting win.
