Injury let-off for Hearts striker Jamie Mole

Nov 27 2008

HEARTS striker Jamie Mole has not broken a foot and could even be fit for Saturday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Rangers.

Mole had feared the worst after injuring himself in training earlier this week and he was taken to hospital for an x-ray.

But the 20-year-old today confirmed he has only suffered bruising to his big toe and he is hoping to be fit for Saturday's lunchtime kick-off at Tynecastle.

"It's just bruising to my big toe which is good news," Mole said.

"It's a little sore but the Rangers game is still a couple of days away so I'm keeping my fingers crossed."

The good news has come as a huge relief both to the player and his manager Csaba Laszlo, who was facing the prospect of going into the Rangers game with Christian Nade as his only fit and firing forward.

Midfielder Laryea Kingston has also declared himself 100% fit after recovering from a torn thigh muscle.

A similar problem has been affecting striker Mike Tullberg, who today vowed to overcome the injury nightmare which has plagued his loan spell at Tynecastle.

The Dane, who joined from Serie A side Reggina in the summer, has managed just two appearances for the Jambos.

He is unsure how long he will be out of action after suffering a setback in his bid to regain full fitness.

Tullberg is hoping to see a specialist as soon as possible and said: "This is one of the most frustrating times of my short career in football, particularly as I hadn't been injured before coming to Hearts.

"At the beginning, I thought it was only going to be two or three weeks out but it's been a long, long time now.

"I just want to get back into the team. The manager is such a good person and I feel like I owe him something. There are many other good people around the club and I just want to help the team as much as possible."

He added: "I have been receiving messages of encouragement from many fans, which has been nice.

"More than anything in the world, I want to show the fans what I can do and score goals for Hearts.

"It's the worst start I could have had at a new club but I'm determined to get back fit.

"Until I speak to a specialist, I won't have any idea how long I might be out but I have no doubt in my mind that I can score goals for Hearts.

"First of all, though, I must get over this injury."
