Hearts well up for the crunch

BARRY ANDERSON
HEARTS manager Csaba Laszlo is convinced Wednesday's aberration against Motherwell is a one-off and has promised a different attitude from his side against Hibs tomorrow in the fourth round of the Homecoming Scottish Cup. The Hungarian was both perplexed and disappointed following the 1-0 defeat at Fir Park and criticised his side afterwards for their lack of application.
Having addressed the issue with his players, he is confident there will be no repeat at Easter Road in front of a live UK-wide audience tomorrow afternoon.

"Against Hibs it is another game. I think Wednesday was a one-off, nothing more," he said today. "I know we will come back and I am not worried. It happened one time and it's finished. You must talk about your problems and definitely, up front, we may have a problem.

"On Wednesday we had players on the field but no-one with discipline. They must do what I want, not what they like to do. I think they have listened."

Bruno Aguiar and Larry Kingston both miss out but the Portuguese has resumed training and is likely to be available for next Saturday's visit to Kilmarnock. Robbie Neilson sits out a one-match suspension after incurring two bookings during last season's Scottish Cup campaign.

"Bruno should be ready next week. He has trained but he is not ready for tomorrow. Larry Kingston is out but Karipidis is okay," said Laszlo, who still hopes to persuade majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov to recruit him a striker before the transfer window closes.

"I hope we can get a striker soon," he continued. "I tried to build a team here but I knew I did not have the striker I needed to score goals. I tried to make a tactic where everyone was dangerous but Christian Nade has scored only one goal.

"I think we must do something but we have some players here. I see Gary Glen, plus Calum Elliot was very unhappy at Tynecastle and now I see his attitude, and everybody knows where Christian Nade was. Now he is back, this is positive."
