Player ratings: Hibs v Hearts

Apr 4 2011

Mark Brown 6 Superb block from Elliott but no chance with goals.

Richie Towell 5

Toiled against Driver but steadied as game went on.

Francis Dickoh 6

Organised his backline until failing to match Webster.

Paul Hanlon 6

Fortunate not to be booked or to concede penalty.

Callum Booth 8

Terrific desire to get forward and deliver crosses.

Martin Scott 6

Midfield drive helped haul Hibs back into game.

Liam Miller 7

Ran game for his side. Picked passes to perfection.

Victor Palsson 5

Shocker of a miss. Game passed him by. Subbed.

Matt Thornhill 6

Chased shadows in first half but influence grew.

Derek Riordan 6

Never looked comfortable in central striking role.

Akpo Sodje 6

Great strength to lure Zaliukas into pulling him down.

Subs: Ricardo Vaz Te - added composure and quality, 7. David Wotherspoon - provided outlet on right, 5. Ian Murray - little impact, 3.

HEARTS

Jamie MacDonald 7

Slow off line at Hibs' second. Denied Vaz Te at death.

Ismael Bouzid 6

Missed sitter but competed for every ball with vigour.

Marius Zaliukas 4

Easy start to the match before red-card flashpoint.

Andy Webster 5

Caught out at Hibs' second but vital role at leveller.

Craig Thomson 5

Tried to provide urgency. Combined well with Driver.

Ruben Palazuelos 6

Sat too deep as Hibs enjoyed extra-man advantage.

Ryan Stevenson 6

Drilled home opener and full of industry.

IanBlack 5

Failed to get close enough to Miller.

David Templeton 5

Tricky until sacrificed after Zaliukas dismissal.

Stephen Elliott 7

Tireless at both ends to aid 10 men before levelling.

Andy Driver 6

Created opener and showed glimpses of quality.

Subs: Jason Thomson - kept things tight, 4. Ryan McGowan - worked away, 4. Rudi Skacel - couldn't influence proceedings, 3.

MEN WHO MATTER

COLIN CALDERWOOD

Will have been hugely disappointed at the end as he knows full well his team only have themselves to blame for not showing enough mental strength to hold on to the win that was within their grasp. 6

JIM JEFFERIES

Clearly has a side who don't know the meaning of defeat in these games. They were a man down and a goal behind but they had one last show of defiance in them aswell. 8

VERDICT

Hibs had victory in their grasp but they still couldn't see out the game because of a day of squandered chances. Hearts deserved their point for their refusal to let fate get the better of them.

MAN IN BLACK

Iain Brines was wrong with a first-half penalty he denied Hearts but right to send Marius Zaliukas off when he conceded a spot-kick. 6
