Hearts and Hibernian cup final stars: where are they now?

Published on Saturday 1 December 2012 00:00

THE line-ups for tomorrow’s Scottish Cup clash between Hibs and Hearts will show a glut of changes since their showdown in last season’s final on 19 May. Here is what has happened to the Hampden combatants

HIBERNIAN

Mark Brown – free transfer to Ross County for whom he has appeared just twice this season.

Matt Doherty – was on loan from Wolves, who have since loaned him out to Bury.

Paul Hanlon – still at Hibs and playing regularly.

James McPake – club captain. Loan move from Coventry has been made permanent, but misses tomorrow’s match with a back injury.

Jorge Claros – Honduran, on loan from Motagua, has been a regular in the Hibs midfield this season.

Tom Soares – loanee was released by Stoke in the summer and joined Bury on non-contract basis last month.

Lewis Stevenson – still at Hibs and recently back from injury. Has made ten appearances this season.

Pa Kujabi – the Gambian has played just once this season, a Scottish Communities League Cup defeat at Queen of the South. Sent off in last season’s final, he is suspended anyway for tomorrow’s match.

Isaiah Osbourne – left Hibs in the summer on a free transfer to Blackpool, for whom he has played 15 times.

Garry O’Connor – ended his second spell at Hibs with a free transfer to Siberian club Tom Tomsk, and was sent off on his debut. One goal in six games in Russia so far.

Leigh Griffiths – loan spell from Wolves has been extended until January. Has been an inspirational figure for Hibs this season, his 13 goals making him the SPL’s top scorer.

Substitutes:

George Francomb (for Soares) – loanee from Norwich, is now on loan at AFC Wimbledon.

Ivan Sproule (for Claros) - still at Easter Road, but struggling to claim a starting place.

Eoin Doyle (for O’Connor) - Playing regularly for Hibs alongside Griffiths. Five goals this season.

HEARTS

Jamie MacDonald - has started every match for Hearts so far.

Ryan McGowan – Australian an ever-present this season

Andy Webster – still a defensive stalwart at Tynecastle.

Marius Zaliukas – captain is another ever-present.

Danny Grainger – cruciate ligament injury last weekend has ruled him out for rest of season.

Suso Santana – returned to former club, Tenerife.

Darren Barr – still at Hearts and another ever-present this season.

Ian Black – contract was not renewed. Joined Rangers in July.

Andy Driver – still at Hearts. Inconsistent form has seen him flit in and out of the team.

Rudi Skacel – two-goal final hero was out of contract and clubless until signing a short-term deal with Dundee United in October.

Steven Elliott – not retained by Hearts and joined Coventry City, making 13 appearances this season.

Substitutes:

Mehdi Taouil (for Driver) - still at Hearts and playing regularly.

Craig Beattie (for Santana) - turned down new contract on reduced terms. Joined St Johnstone and has made three substitute appearances.

Scott Robinson (for Black) - still at Hearts, starting mostly on the bench.
