Mullen not concerned by abuse over move

Friday 5 July 2013

Fraser Mullen, the Hibernian right-back, was jeered throughout his debut for the Easter Road side following his arrival from Hearts but is adamant that he is mature enough to cope with any abuse from the stands.

The teenager played against Gibraltar on Wednesday night in Hibs' first pre-season friendly and was booed by a small band of expat Hearts supporters who attended the match. The home fans then elected to join in and Mullen was subjected to the ire of a 200-strong crowd.

However, he responded by scoring in a 3-1 win and admitted that he is settled at his new club. "I know am going to get some flak after the move," said the 19-year-old. "I am not bothered as I am bound get some abuse and I fully expect it. I never walked out on Hearts, I was let go by the club and the jeering and insults will not really bother me."
