Huszti is a danger, says Park

PAUL KIDDIE

ASSISTANT boss Donald Park today earmarked Ferencvaros striker Szabolcs Huszti as one of the threats to Hearts’ European dreams.

The Hungarian internationalist smashed two goals at Hampden Park in his country’s 3-0 thrashing of Scotland in August and will be out to put the Jambos to the sword tomorrow.

Hearts must win and hope Basel fail to defeat Feyenoord in Switzerland to reach the knockout stages of the last 32 of the competition and

Park has cautioned against recklessly charging forward in search of goals and leaving spaces at the back.

"Ferencvaros are a technically very good side full of good individual players who like to pass the ball around," he said.

"It will be a difficult game. I watched them play Basel who won, deservedly so, as they had that bit more quality on the night. But they have a great history and are a very good team.

"Huszti scored a couple against Scotland at Hampden when Hungary gave us a ripping earlier this year. We are not talking about someone who is hopeless here and they are an excellent counter- attacking side.

"I think that application, determination and tempo will be the key factors for us.

We can’t allow them to settle on the ball and pass it around through the midfield. We must lift the tempo and try to play the game high up the park.

"Having said that, we have to concentrate as they are dangerous when given the opportunity to go forward.

"Although they like to play slowly, they have decent pace and my goodness they can break quickly. They scored a goal like that against Basel so we will have to be wary of that quality."

Czech star Robert Vagner is set to be sidelined by a back injury.
