BRITTAIN: I'LL PUT WON OVER MY BROTHERS
By Scott Mcdermott

LIVINGSTON kid Richard Brittain has vowed to put a dent in Hearts' title challenge today - then celebrate in front of his Jambo brothers.

The 21-year-old believes Paul Lambert's side can record their first SPL win of the season against the league leaders at Almondvale.

Brittain vowed to dance for joy at the Hearts end where brothers Michael and Adam will be sitting if he scores.

His older siblings are Tynecastle regulars who REFUSED free briefs for today's live showdown because they'd have to sit in the home end.

Brittain insists he'll be straight on his mobile after the game if Lambo's men grab an unlikely three points.

He said: "Michael and Adam are die-hard Jambos who have season tickets and they'll be here giving me a bit of stick.

"They'll be in the Hearts end alright. Every time I offer them tickets for the Livi end they pretend they don't hear me.

"But if I score I'll be celebrating in front of them"I'm more of a Livi man now - I'm from Bathgate so I want to see us winning every week.

"If we can take anything from Hearts I'll be on the phone to them as soon as I reach the dressing-room.

"They have us down for a defeat straight away but I want to prove them wrong.

"Adam has a few quid on Hearts to win the league at 300-1 - hopefully we can put a dent in their challenge."

Despite being one of Livi's youngest stars Brittain has already seen FIVE managers depart.

And he has urged chairman Pearse Flynn to show faith in new boss Lambert (below) by giving him a FIVE-YEAR deal.

Richard, who played under Jim Leishman, Davie Hay, Marcio Maximo, Allan Preston and Richard Gough before Lambo, said: "The spirit is just great in our dressing room.

"It's up there with any year I've been here.

"Since Paul Dalglish came in it has gone up a notch and the likes of David McNamee is chirpier because he's getting fitter. The atmosphere in the dressing-room is good and it will be better as soon as we get that first win.

"I've had a few managers at just 21 so it's important for the club to have a bit of stability.

"We need to have the manager here for four or five years.

"Paul is here for the long haul and I'm sure the chairman has confidence in him.

"It was hard and frustrating for me to come in and prove myself then read the manager had gone.

"It's happened to me more than most at this club.

"But I'm enjoying it under Paul - there's a fresh impetus now."

Brittain was sent off at Ibrox on the opening day of the season but he's quickly establishing himself as a Livi regular.

Because of injuries he has been used as a right-back despite preferring to be an attacking midfielder.

But the youngster insists he'll play ANYWHERE just as long as Livi can climb away from the foot of the table - starting today with a win over George Burley's high-flyers.

He said: "Being a defensive type player isn't in my make-up at the moment. But I'm doing a job for the team - that comes first.

"A result is going to come for us and I think it will be today - all the boys are enjoying playing under the new manager.

"There's a fresh buzz about the place because of the new signings and we're confident of getting back on track.

"The likes of Dalglish and Graham Barrett have brought a spark on and off the pitch.

"Paul is a pest in the dressing room. He's always playing jokes on people and we're going to get him back sometime soon.

"Graham looks different class in training so hopefully he can take that into the games.

"We need goals and if those two can hit it off just as they have done in training it will happy days for us come the Hearts game.

"They can't go through the whole season unbeaten and we are desperate for our first win
