JAMBOS HAPPY WITH 1000 BRIEFS FOR IBROX CLASH

By Gary Ralston

HEARTS have told Rangers they are ready to talk after being offered 1000 tickets for the end of season crunch at Ibrox.

The Jambos have declared themselves "satisfied" with their allocation for the potential Champions League decider on May 7.

However, they say they are open to discussion if Rangers are willing to make more tickets available for visiting fans.

The Ibrox club were furious in November when Hearts cut their allocation for the Tyne castle fixture in March from 3600 to 2100.

The SPL board found in favour of the Gorgie side, whose home games this season have all attracted sell-out crowds.

Rangers say the allocation of 1000 tickets is typical for visiting clubs and there has been no tit-for-tat cut to the Jambos' numbers.

A spokesman said: "Hearts have been offered, and accepted, the section of the Govan West Stand which is given over to visiting fans and which equates to 1000 seats. "This is the same allocation every SPL club receives for games at Ibrox, with the exception of Celtic.

"Hearts were offered the same section for games last season and took up around 500 tickets from their allocation."

A Hearts spokesman said: "We're satisfied at being offered our usual allocation for Ibrox.

"However, if Rangers were to make an offer of more tickets we'd certainly discuss it with them as we feel demand from our fans for the game will be substantial."

Meanwhile, Celtic fans will also find their allocation reduced for the game at Tynecastle on April 30.

Hearts have made 1900 tickets available to Hoops fans in the Roseburn Stand.

Celtic will continue to monitor the situation for next season but with Hearts a major player again in the Scottish game, seats for Old Firm fans will continue to be at a premium.
