Hearts Season Tickets All Gone

Hearts have announced that they've had unprecedented demand for season tickets for 2006/7 over the past few weeks.

In the 26 days since existing season ticket holders have been able to renew for next season, all 12,500 have been snapped up. Sadly with the capacity only just over 17,000, this is the maximum number of season tickets that the club can allocate.

However Hearts have put unsuccessful applicants onto a Priority Waiting List, which the club have announced has around 3,000 names on it now. Each supporter registered on this waiting list has requested an average of two seats per application form, so in effect the tangible demand is for around 19,000 seats.

This just goes to show that Hearts do have great pulling potential. We know that we are capable of massive turnouts for one-off matches (40,000 at the Cup Final, 30,000 for Euro games at Murrayfield for example) but this proves that if the product on the park is of sufficient quality, then people will turn out in their thousands to back them regularly.

Tynecastle was an absolute fortress for Hearts last season. The fact that every home league game was sold out created a brilliant atmosphere and it's great news that this will be the case again next season. Despite World Cup fever being well and truly in the air, I can't wait for next season to start!
