Hearts silent on ban threat

HEARTS today refused to comment on reports which claimed that they could face a worldwide ban from all transfer activity because they haven't paid Racing Genk the agreed fee for Mirsad Beslija.

Beslija signed for the Tynecastle side in January in a deal worth £800,000, with a 20 per cent payment being made up front. However, Genk insist they have still to receive the remaining 80 per cent despite setting a deadline of May 31.
It has been claimed that lawyers for the Belgians have threatened to report Hearts to FIFA if they do not receive the outstanding amount by Friday.

Genk's finance director Filip Aerden, said: "We have given them until the end of the week before we take any further action which, in the first instance, will include a report to FIFA."

Meanwhile, the Jambos have just 24 hours to make a decision on Julien Brellier's future.

The midfielder signed a season-long deal with Hearts in the summer, with the option of staying in Gorgie for another 12 months.

His agent Mauricio De Georges said: "Hearts must tell me by June 15 if they are exercising the option on Julien for next season."
