LIVI ARE ALL WIGHT THANKS TO CRAIG

By John Gardner

LIVINGSTON manager John Robertson is ready to turn to former Hibs and Arbroath man Craig Wight as he bids to solve his keeper crisis.

The Almondvale side are without a No.1 following the departures of Ludovic Roy and Roddy McKenzie.

Moroccan Yassine El-Had was brought in on trial but he was released after failing to impress errors in the 2-1 defeat at Raith Rovers and 2-0 reverse against Norwich.

Wight, who spent four years as a youngster with Hibs and had five seasons at Gayfield, was drafted in for Thursday's 2-1 defeat to Hearts after returning from a scholarship in the United States.

He'll get another chance to prove himself on Monday against Elgin City and 24 hours later against Nairn County before travelling to Blackpool for a friendly on Friday.

Robertson said: "Craig did well against Hearts. He was a lot more comfortable than the Moroccan keeper we had in.

"We need two keepers this season and he's certainly done himself no harm."

Meanwhile, Robertson has allayed fears summer signing Steven Craig's injury jinx has struck again.

The former Aberdeen and Motherwell striker limped off against Hearts but Robertson said: "We were concerned but he's just twisted his ankle."
