Hearts coach Tam too fast for Bosnian sneak thief

A HEARTS team coach leapt into action when he caught a thief trying to steal the Gorgie team's luggage in Bosnia.

Tam Ritchie, who is a former 800 metres internationalist, was unloading bags outside the stadium before last night's Champions League qualifier when he saw a man try to swipe one of them.

He gave chase and caught up with the culprit and managed to retrieve the kit.

One witness was reported as saying today: "Tam had been unloading the kit and setting everything up.

"But when his back was turned a thief thought he'd try his luck and do a runner with one of the bags.

"But Tam was too quick for him and he managed to catch up with him.

"I reckon the thief must have been pretty embarrassed."

Hearts will face AEK Athens in their next Champions League qualifier after defeating Siroki Brijeg 3-0 on aggregate following last night's 0-0 draw.
