FERRER: DON'T GET COCKY

By Euan Mclean

AEK ATHENS coach Lorenzo Serra Ferrer's biggest fear ahead of Wednesday's clash with Hearts is his players getting too COCKY.

The Greeks lead 2-1 going into the second leg of their Champions League showdown with the Tynecastle side.

AEK are notoriously hard to beat at home, making them favourites to reach the group stages.

But Spaniard Ferrer said: "Our 2-1 lead is dangerous because it could result in over-confidence.

"That attitude is bad and I must make sure it doesn't happen. I'm convinced my team will fight from the first minute.

"I have warned the players not to have ideas in their head about spoiling the game.

"The match will be different from the one in Scotland but we won't change our system.

"It would be great to get into the group phase because I have excellent memories from being there with Real Betis last season."

AEK goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino is sure his side will make it through.

The Italian said: "We are the best team and more experienced than Hearts. We only need to draw but from the first minute our mentality will be to go for the win."

However, Jambos boss Valdas Ivanauskas is sure his troops will handle the red-hot atmosphere in Athens and claim a shock win.

He said: "Guys like Takis Fyssas, Edgaras Jankauskas, Steven Pressley and Paul Hartley have already played international games in big atmospheres. We will be ready.

"Of course we will attack but we must do so in a clever way. Having Paul back after injury would help us go forward because he drives the team on but he needs to be 100 per cent ready physically and mentally."
