SCOTTISH GAME IS CLEAN SAYS GARY

FORMER Hearts hero Gary Mackay believes there are no underhand deals in Scottish football

Mackay has been an agent for the last six years, following a short spell as boss at Airdrie, and insisted he had never been aware of bungs.

He said: "I've not been aware of anything going on while I've been doing my dealings in Scotland.

"It's not really the type of thing you want to be doing - giving or asking people for money.

"I have been an agent for six years and it's not something I've come across, even as a player or in my short time as a manager.

"I wouldn't like to think any manager or coach I've done business with is involved in anything like that and I don't think they are."

Mackay insists reputable agents and managers in Scotland have nothing to worry about in light of the allegations about English football.

He said: "There is a danger everyone could be tarred with the same brush. But if you know all your dealings are professional and you have gone about things in the right manner there is nothing to be concerned about."

He was backed by Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood. The Dons boss claimed he was offered a bung by a Greek agent in the summer but believes the game in Scotland is clean.
