STOP THAT RESTARTED MY HEARTS

PREMIER LEAGUE
By Gordon Waddell

CRAIG GORDON flashed out his left hand to pull off one of the saves of his life - and wave the magic wand he reckons will save Hearts season.

The Scotland No.1's point blank stop from Motherwell's Jim Paterson at the death last Sunday clawed victory from the jaws of a draw to push the Jambos back into second spot.

However, Gordon believes it was more than just a save - it was a turning point after demoralising defeats by St Mirren and Sparta Prague.

He said: "It was the timing of the save more than anything that was important. It gave us three points when we desperately needed them.

"Hopefully that can be a wee turning point and we can go on a roll now.

"Even though we scraped a result that save at the death was timed perfectly."

If Hearts are to be serious title contenders Gordon admits they have to go to places like Aberdeen today and WIN.

He said: "Everyone seems capable of losing points this season, especially away from home, so it's vitally important you get some form on the road."
