Romanov Losing Plot

Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov has vowed to sell the entire first team squad if the team do not win today's match with Dunfermline.

Speaking after Steven Pressley publicly revealed the extent of unrest that exists within the Tynecastle dressing room yesterday, the eccentric Russian responded by saying that he'd have no qualms about selling all players 'to the likes of Kilmarnock'. He also went onto say that he wouldn't have a problem playing a team full on youngsters in Hearts' next fixture, which is away to Celtic next weekend.

On top of everything that's gone on in the past week and indeed for the entire Romanov reign, this just about takes the biscuit in terms of pure eccentricity. It's also disrespectful to the both the players and the supporters, in particular the likes of Pressley who have sweated blood for this club through exceptionally trying times.

It will be very interesting to see what happens as far as team selection goes for this afternoon's fixture against Dunfermline at Tynecastle. If either Pressley, Paul Hartley or Craig Gordon are dropped as a result of the press conference yesterday, I reckon that hundreds, possibly even thousands of fans will head straight for the exits in protest. It might sound childish or just plain silly, but there's really no other way that the fans can display their feelings. Sure, they can 'boo' and make a lot of noise, but that won't hit Romanov in the pocket.

One thing's for sure, it promises to be a hell of an afternoon at Tynecastle.....
