HEARTS PULL PLUG ON FESTIVE BASHTYNECASTLE IN TURMOIL... By Gary Ralston HEARTS have cancelled Christmas - but denied playing Scrooge with free speech for their players. The Jambos advertised three Christmas lunches next week at the Gorgie Suite in Tynecastle and promised a Q and A session with top stars as part of the package. But the events were cancelled yesterday amid claims the club feared players would make critical comments. Hearts insist poor numbers caused the cancellation with tickets on offer at £35 plus VAT. One fan told the popular Jambo skick back website: "My six colleagues and I were meant to be going on Monday and it's solely down to the club being scared of what the players would say to us." However, a Hearts spokes-woman said: "A Q & A session was planned but this is by no means the reason for the event being cancelled. "Unfortunately this idea has not captured the supporters' imaginations. We apologise for any inconvenience and will be giving a full refund." ![]() Taken from the Daily Record |
