Rocky will be a knockout, claims coachMARK BONTHRONE HEARTS under-19 boss Darren Murray today predicted a big future for Australian midfield sensation Rocky Visconte. The winger, who was signed from Frankston Strikers in September, has been in dazzling form since his arrival in Scotland, turning in a series of impressive displays for the under-19s which have seen him earmarked by Tynecastle coaching staff as one of the best young players on the books. The 17-year-old is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Sport and is a regular at national level for his age-group. Hearts first became aware of the player's abilities after he was recommended to them by former defender Dave McPherson who developed a network of contacts while playing Down Under. Visconte was outstanding in the SFA Youth Cup against Hibs last weekend, despite the wee Jambos crashing out of the competition 1-0 at Tynecastle. And Murray, who also worked with the Australian at under-17 level before his promotion up the coaching ladder, believes the club have unearthed a special talent. "He's a young lad from Adelaide that came across and played a trial game with my under-17 side and he's certainly impressed," said Murray. "You can see that he has so much natural ability to take players on and do something with the ball. In terms of natural ability and going forward he's a great player to watch and is very easy on the eye. "As well as being good on the ball he has a strong work ethic. Despite being young his fitness is also very good. He certainly has a good chance of playing in our first team." |
