TYNECASTLE IS A HARD PLACE TO GO BUT WE DESERVED WINThis is a very difficult place to come, even with their troubles, and we have not had a good record at Tynecastle. A lot of people still doubted us. We had something to prove today and I think we deserved the win. When Paul Hartley came on in the second half it gave them a big lift and, although they had created a few chances beforehand, I thought we had dominated the game. You are also worried the goal might not come even though you are playing so well. Defensively we are very strong and when we can bring players such as Steve Lovell off the bench it means you will always have a chance. I would say Hearts were a better side when Steven Pressley and Hartley were playing - but it is none of my business. I was quite happy Paul was not playing. The last time we were here it was a great night for Hearts as they secured European football. It was different today. I always tell my players to enjoy the good times while they can because there is always something round the corner. But I can only look at my club and we have done great coming to a difficult place such as this and getting the win. We have had a few chances to get into second place in the past, but we have blown it, so we will enjoy this for as long as it lasts. Games against Rangers are usually huge - but this one next Saturday might just have taken on even greater importance. It is great to be involved at the right end of the table. The quality and the pace we have in the team is great and we are very strong in defence. Only Celtic have had a better defensive record than us this season and our fitness levels are exceptional. ![]() |
