Rangers ban fans' group over Tynecastle missile

RANGERS have suspended a supporters' club from matches after a missile was thrown on to the pitch at Tynecastle.

The East Kilbride Supporters' Club is being investigated by Ibrox chiefs following the incident during the match against Hearts last month.

They are also looking into reports of sectarian singing by the group at the game, which Rangers won 1-0.

The supporters' club has been suspended and one fan has been banned from attending all Rangers matches.

Rangers warned fans they will be held responsible for the behaviour of those occupying their allotted seats at matches.

Laurence Macintyre, Rangers' head of safety, said: "The supporters' club in question received only three tickets for the match but claimed they did not know who had used them.

"We were also made aware of sectarian singing in the same seating area and, as a result of this, and the missile throwing incident, the registration of the supporters' club has been suspended."
