HEARTS CAN CASH IN AT SAVINGS BANKSBy Scott Mcdermott GUTTED Barry Robson watched as Hearts' deputy keeper Steve Banks denied his side a point. But he reckons the Englishman should KEEP his place ahead of Craig Gordon. The Dundee United skipper almost salvaged a point at Tannadice with a curling free-kick but Banks thwarted him with a stunning one-handed stop. Robson also saw another set-piece cannon off the bar and a header cleared off the line by Christophe Berra. The Tynecastle club claimed the win thanks to a Paul Hartley penalty. But Robson insists the Arabs would have grabbed a share of the spoils if it wasn't for the heroics of Banks. Barry said: "We deserved a point because the chances we had in the last 20 minutes were frightening. Advertisement "Since I've been at this clubwe haven't had that stroke of luck. "I was sure the free-kick Banks saved at the end was in but he flew across and produced a fantastic stop. "I know Craig is good but on that performance I'd keep Banks in." Arabs boss Craig Levein was pleased with his side's effort and workrate but knows they're badly needing to recruit a striker in the January transfer window. He said: "I don't want to be too harsh on young David Goodwillie but he's not ready to play yet. "It's frustrating not having anyone else with Noel Hunt out. "But no matter how many times I look at my bench I see no Thierry Henry there." ![]() Taken from the Sunday Mail |
