Mrowiec faces long lay off after surgery

HEARTS boss Csaba Laszlo revealed today that Adrian Mrowiec is likely to be out of action for the rest of the year.
The Tynecastle side's summer signing from FBK Kaunas has made only two appearances for the first team after aggravating an existing knee problem since moving to Scotland.

The injury failed to respond to treatment and the player was forced to go under the knife earlier this week in Lithuania to remove excess fluid from the joint.

The 24-year-old is now on the road to recovery but Laszlo warned Hearts supporters that they may not see the player in action again for some time to come. He said: "Adrian has had this problem for a little while.

"It is unfortunate but, having visited a specialist, it was decided that an operation was required. He had it done earlier this week and it is unlikely that he will be featuring for us before the New Year."

Meanwhile, Laszlo believes striker Mike Tullberg could be fit to face Rangers next weekend. Tullberg has also suffered from a string of injury problems since signing for the Jambos and Laszlo added: "He will maybe be fit to face Rangers. We cannot wait for him to be 100 per cent. He is working well and the most important thing for him is to be injury free. Once that happens we can help him to come back quickly."
