Laszlo challenges Tullberg to come in and solve Hearts' striking woes

BARRY ANDERSON
CSABA LASZLO hopes a fully revitalised Mike Tullberg can solve Hearts' striking problems when he returns to Edinburgh following intense rehabilitation in Denmark.
The manager believes Tullberg has the ability to fill the void left following Hearts' failure to recruit a striker during the January transfer window.

The forward, on loan from Reggina until the end of the season, has been recuperating from a second torn thigh muscle in his homeland but is almost fully recovered. Christian Nade, Gary Glen and Calum Elliot are the only recognised strikers currently available to Laszlo, highlighted by last weekend's bold decision to deploy Eggert Jonsson at centre-forward in the Scottish Cup defeat by Falkirk. And with Tullberg due to return to Riccarton next week, Laszlo is keen to utilise a new attacking option.

"We must not forget Tullberg, who will come back in seven days and will be like a new player," he said. "He has hardly played any games for us and he can give another possibility in the striker position. He can be a solution.

"I'm not thinking too much about his fitness, I am thinking about his injury. If he is injury-free for the rest of the season he can help us." Saulius Mikoliunas is also progressing as scheduled following a three-month absence with knee ligament damage. He is expected to rejoin first-team training next week.

"Miko has trained all this week to work on his physical side," said Laszlo. "I hope he will train with the team by the middle of next week."
