Kingston 'will be back for Hearts in three weeks'

BARRY ANDERSON
CSABA LASZLO expects Larry Kingston to be back playing for Hearts within three weeks after sending him to Munich to consult world-renowned sports injury specialist Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt.

The Ghanaian midfielder has not played since the 1-1 draw with St Mirren on February 21 because of a hamstring problem and flew to Germany yesterday to accelerate his recovery.

Muller-Wohlfahrt, who doubles as Bayern Munich's club doctor and fitness coach of the German national team, was approached by Hearts' assistant coach Werner Burger to help Kingston recover before the end of the season.

Laszlo said today that the player should be back in action early next month.

"Larry needs three weeks and then he can come back," he told the Evening News. "He has started running and he is going in the right direction. But he needs a little more time before he can play.

"We need all our players for the finish to the season and I think he is an important player for us."

Muller-Wohlfahrt has been credited with restoring some of the world's top footballers to fitness. His clinic in Munich has been visited some of the game's most decorated players including Jurgen Klinsmann, Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard and Ronaldo.

He has also worked with Olympic champions Maurice Greene and Kelly Holmes as well as US Masters golf champion Jose-Maria Olazabal.

"He is one of the most experienced guys in the world when it comes to sports medicine," said Laszlo. "He works with Bayern Munich and the national team in Germany. He will check out Larry's muscle and hopefully the visit will help.

"His recovery has been going well and this will be another important step in the right direction."

Meanwhile, former Hearts signing target Pascal Mendy has left Lithuanian side FBK Kaunas by mutual consent. The Senegalese internationalist is now seeking a new club.
