Hearts carve out draw to end tour

Published Date: 30 July 2009

A GOALLESS draw in Plymouth will be welcomed by Hearts at the end of their two-match tour of England, the Edinburgh side were more adventurous and competitive than in previous pre-season matches.
Zezinando, the Portuguese trialist, came close to converting a winning goal late in the match and overall Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo will have been satisfied with the improvement in his players following Saturday's efforts against Southampton.

Hearts had the game's best attacking move in the 78th minute. David Witteveen's pass sent Eggert Jonsson clear for a cross towards sub Zezinando. He threw himself along the wet turf but narrowly missed connecting eight yards from goal.

Plymouth Argyle: Larrieu, McNamee, Timar, Seip, Sawyer, Fletcher, Arnason, Puncheon, Paterson, Puncheon, Wright-Phillips, MacLean. Subs: Duguid 67 (for Paterson), Clark 60 (for Arnason), Fallon 57 (for Puncheon), Noone 78 (for MacLean).

Hearts: MacDonald, Jonsson, Bouzid, Kucharski, Goncalves, Suso, Black, M Stewart, Obua, Kingston, Nade. Subs: Balogh, Wallace, Zaliukas 46 (for Kucharski), C Thomson, J Stewart 62 (for Black), McGowan, Glen 88 (for Obua), Witteveen 55 (for Kingston), Novikovas 75 (for Suso), Moreira, Zezinando 69 (for Nade), Kello 46 (for MacDonald).
