New injury blow for Hearts as Jonsson out for six weeks

Hearts have suffered another injury blow after Eggert Jonsson was ruled out for six weeks out with a stomach injury.
The Iceland international was told he needs surgery when he met a specialist in England this morning, after tearing a muscle during Sunday's defeat by Rangers.

The 21-year-old, who will go in for an operation on Friday, joins Calum Elliot in suffering an injury blow during the same game.

Elliot has been ruled out for two months after suffering cartilage damage in his knee.

"This is not good news but what can we do?" manager Csaba Laszlo told Hearts News Today.

"He will be a miss for us but Eggert is a strong professional and he will work hard to get back as soon as he can.

"Injuries are part of football life and we do not have the luck with this at the moment."

Laszlo has had some better news though, with Andrew Driver reporting no adverse reaction to his foot after returning from injury at training on Tuesday.
