Kilmarnock 1-1 Heart of Midlothian

From Hearts Media at Rugby Park..

A last-gasp Suso Santana header rescued a point for Hearts at Rugby Park after both sides had been reduced to ten men.

Paul Heffernan's 79th minute strike looked to have won it for Killie before the Spaniard snatched a share of the spoils at the death.

Hearts made two changes to the side that lost to Celtic midweek. Ian Black returned from suspension whilst Rudi Skacel was promoted from the bench. Ryan McGowan and Scott Robinson dropped out.

The home side should have taken the lead after four minutes. A wicked cross from the right found Van Tornhout with the goal at his mercy, but the Belgian could only head well wide.

Sissoko came even closer three minutes later when his looping header came back off the top of Jamie MacDonald's cross bar.

Hearts were struggling to impose themselves in an attacking sense, and it was Killie who threatened again on 18 minutes when Gary Hay fired over from 18 yards.

The Jambos' first real effort on goal came just after the half hour mark. Rudi Skacel used his strength to bring down a high ball before swivelling and shooting right footed, although Bell was able to gather.

Hearts were beginning to trouble Kilmarnock more, and Marius Zaliukas' 39th minute header wasn't too far away after Black's corner.

Skacel again tried his luck from the edge of the area, and his left foot drive defelcted over just before the break.

Paulo Sergio's side began the second half brightly, Mehdi Taouil collecting Driver's square pass before sending in a low right footed shot that Bell held at his near post.

Kilmarnock were immediately up the other end, and Jamie MaDonald had to deal with Dean Shiels' stinging free kick.

The hosts were reduced to ten men after 52 minutes. Peter Van Tornhout appeared to catch Hamill high and late, and was given his marching orders after receieving a second yellow following his early foul on the same player.

Stephen Elliott was inches away from giving Hearts the lead on 62 minutes. Taouil released Hamill on the right and his early cross was met forcefully by Elliott, who was unlucky to see his head fly narrowly over.

Jamie Hamill was next to have a go from distance but his right footed drive was always rising and did't worry Bell with 20 minutes remaining.

The ten-men then took the lead with 13 minutes remaining. Shiels' corner wasn't dealt with and Paul Heffernan was able to force the ball home from close range.

Things went from bad to worse within a minute after Jamie Hamill was shown a second yellow.

The red card looked to have completeley deflated the Gorgie side, but right at trhe death, Stephen Elliott swung in the best cross produced by a Hearts player all game, which was buried at the back post by Suso.
