He's a 'keeper!

05.12.2012

Former Hearts goalkeeper John Brough is to rejoin the club as part of a revamped hospitality sales department.

The popular ex-goalie, who played at Tynecastle between 1977 and 1983, has been a regular visitor to the stadium in recent years and will bring valuable experience from a background in the retail sales industry.

John joins the Hearts sales team as part of a change to the hospitality arrangements at the club, with the sales which were previously handled by catering partner Saltire Hospitality. Sales have been taken back in house to benefit Heart of Midlothian Football Club.

Saltire Hospitality, led by David Peters, will still remain the club's key partner in providing all catering requirements at the stadium, including conference and banqueting facilities, Christmas parties and kiosk services. The team at Saltire Hospitality whole heartedly supports this move which ensures financial gain from hospitality services goes direct to the club.

Hearts Commercial Director Vitalijus Vasiliauskas said: "We are bringing the hospitality sales back in-house and are delighted to have secured someone of John's experience to assist us.

"Everything else remains the same as far as Saltire Hospitality is concerned. They will remain a key club partner and we are looking forward to continuing to work together to provide the best possible matchday experience for the supporters."

Speaking of his excitement at the role, John said: "I'm hoping I can add value to the hospitality sales team. I spent a lot of happy years here as a player and am looking forward to this new challenge."

The new set-up - headed up by Shelley Kay - will be in place for hospitality bookings from Thursday, December 6 when you can call 0131 200 7239 and 0131 200 7271 to ensure your seat at an upcoming game.

And remember, every pound spent on hospitality will directly help the club!
