HEARTS are teetering on the brink of financial collapse after putting EVERY player on the transfer list.

Last night there were growing fears inside Tynecastle the stricken club might not survive their latest cash crisis.

One source admitted: “It is not possible to overstate the seriousness of the situation we’re in.

“We have no money left and we can’t pay players or staff. The clock is ticking.”

A shock statement revealed Hearts — saddled with debts of £25million — will now try to flog as many of their top players as they can in a bid to create a survival fund.

SunSport revealed earlier this month the club was facing the prospect of a winding-up order over an unpaid tax bill.

Insiders claim they are still confident of meeting that £100,000 debt but players WON’T receive wages due to be paid today.

Fans were angered by the tone of yesterday’s statement which blamed THEM for not buying season tickets.

PFA Scotland are ready to act after they were alerted to the situation.
