BESLIJA GLORY FOR JAMBOS

HEARTS LATEST... Livingston 1 Hearts 2

BOSNIAN Mirsad Beslija helped deliver Hearts a victory ahead of next week's Champions League debut against his countrymen Siroki Brijeg.

Beslija, who owner Vladimir Romanov offered back to Belgians Racing Genk after watching him flop following his record move in January, couldn't even find his way into a mostly second-string starting line-up at Almondvale.

But the midfielder, who has been the subject of a legal wrangle involving FIFA after Hearts failed to pay up his £850,000 transfer fee, made an immediate impression when he grabbed the Gorgie men's second with a superb solo run after his half-time introduction.

Whether it will be enough for him to force his way into the Euro reckoning is another question.

Youngster Andrew Neill headed Hearts in front after a cross from Portuguese trialist Tiago Costa. And 30 seconds later Beslija ran half the length of the pitch to hit the second.

Steven Weir, brother of former Hearts star Graham Weir, scored for Livi with his first touch after replacing Steven Craig.
