LINESMAN 'WANTED FAN FIGHT'Exclusive by Gary Ralston IRATE Hearts fans have reported a linesman to the SFA and accused him of challenging them to a fight. Hearts supporter Steve Gilroy, 26, alleges Dishington made the inflammatory gestures to fans during the 1-1 draw with Dunfermline at Tynecastle. He has sent an email of complaint to the SFA and claims other fans have also demanded action be taken against the official. The allegations against Dishington were the talk of dozens of Hearts fans in the Wheatfield Stand during and after the game, which finished 1-1. Gilroy, a season-ticket holder for 18 years, attended the game with niece Nadean, 10, and was disgusted with Dishington's alleged misbehaviour. He said: "He was turning round and pointing at folk in the crowd and as he passed Section D, where I sit, he clearly picked out one fan and said, 'If you want a go big man, come on down'. "I sent an email to the SFA on Saturday night because there's no place for this type of behaviour in Scottish football. "It's bad enough when it's coming from the terraces but when the SFA are sending such people to matches it makes it 10 times worse. The alleged incident was sparked in the second half when Dishington gave decisions against Hearts stars Deividas Cesnauskis and Roman Bednar. Gilroy, from Edinburgh, added: "He was taking a lot of stick but I've never seen behaviour like it." Dishington, from Lanarkshire, could not be contacted last night and SFA referees' chief Donald MacVicar declined to comment. ![]() Taken from the Daily Record |
