Bednar admits Hearts 'storm'Vasek Kadlec Hearts striker Roman Bednar is unsure what the future holds after a turbulent period at Tynecastle. The Scottish Premier League side have not won in their last five games, with The Jambos going out of the CIS Insurance Cup to Edinburgh rivals Hibernian on Wednesday. Unrest in the Hearts dressing room was publicly highlighted after captain Steven Pressley made his feelings known in a press conference late last month. The Scotland international was upset with majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov's threat to sell players unless Hearts defeated Dunfermline Athletic last month - a match that ended in a 1-1 home draw. The Czech striker admits he has not endured such a situation since joining the Gorgie club. "For the two years I have been playing here, this is probably the biggest storm he (Romanov) has made," Bednar told Sport.cz. "The captain and the older players arranged a press conference, but nothing more has happened since then. "Mr Romanov said that he would sell all of us though, but it is not that easy to sell so many players. "He also didn't pick the junior players, as he promised. "It is his style. He wanted to chuff us. "That happens probably in all clubs, but in our club, it is more frequent. "We won a point at home (against Dunfermline) and were a clearly better team against Celtic, but unfortunately lost there. "Let's see what happens further. Perhaps Mr Romanov will have another speech for us." The former Mlada Boleslav hit-man thinks head coach Valdas Ivanauskas should have returned from his two-week health-related break. "Mr Ivanauskas should have returned in two weeks, but that did not happen as he is staying at home," he added. "I have to say Eduard Malofeev's training sessions are not bad. Nevertheless, nobody knows what is going on." The 23-year-old says recovering from an Achilles injury has kept him clear of the club's latest controversies. "I have it a bit easier, as I am injured," he said. "I will be resting my Achilles for approximately three weeks." http://home.skysports.com |
