Bid To Buy Out Romanov?

Reports are doing the rounds that an Edinburgh consortium have made an offer to buy out Hearts majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov.

Apparently the bid being made is a carbon copy of one that was submitted to former Chief Executive Chris Robinson in 2005. An Edinburgh plumber called Pat Munro, who was involved in that particular offer, is also believed to be part of this new consortium. No other names have been confirmed, although rumours are doing the rounds that a certain Phil Anderton could be involved.

The way that things have been going recently, I can imagine that this news would be welcomed by most Hearts fans. However it's all very well saying that someone else is interesting in buying Romanov's shares, but how much money do they have? What would they do with the debt? If the offer wasn't good enough for Robinson in 2005 then is it likely to be significantly better now? There are many unanswered questions, but it seems unlikely that Romanov will accept this offer anyway.
This is definitely something to keep our eyes on however - could just be the start of something............
