DARGO WILL GLADLY ADD TO JAMBO PALS WOES

SPL LATEST...

CRAIG DARGO last night vowed to gun down Hearts - and watch his pals sink even deeper into depression.

Dargo, a self-confessed Hibs fan from Edinburgh, has friends on the other side of the Edinburgh divide disillusioned at what's become of their beloved Jambos.

The Caley Thistle striker would normally spare a thought for his pals' plight as they fear for the future of the Tynecastle club under the ruthless ownership of Vladimir Romanov.

But he's putting all sympathy to one side as Charlie Christie's outfit seek the league win that would see them draw level with today's visitors to the Highlands.

Dargo said: "They'd be delighted for me on a personal level if I do the business but not too happy from their point of view.

"It's a difficult time for them although I'm sure they'll still take a big following up with them to create a good atmosphere.

"At the end of the day it's none of our business and we've just got to try to take advantage of the situation.

"It's always tough against Hearts - they've got so many quality players - so we're under no illusions what we must do if we're to get the three points."

Dargo needs no reminding it's a crunch clash as a third straight defeat would leave Inverness looking anxiously behind them, having enjoyed the lofty heights of being third top just recently.

He said: "The league is so tight that one win or defeat can make all the difference.

"We don't want to be looking over our shoulders at teams below us so that's why three points would be a huge lift to help get as many points in the bag at this stage."

Caley Thistle find themselves back on home soil following back-to-back defeats on the road.

Dargo said: "We just lost to two quality sides away from home in Hibs and Celtic.

"There's no disgrace in that and we certainly had chances in both those games which we should have taken.

"We couldn't have asked for two tougher teams so it's nice to get back to our own place. "Unlike last season when we were struggling at home, we've been doing relatively well recently at the Caledonian Stadium."
