JEWELL: WEBSTER'S A GEM AND HE'S STAYINGWIGAN boss Paul Jewell has ruled out a move back to Scotland for Old Firm target Andy Webster. Although the ex-Hearts defender has fallen out of favour at the JJB Stadium, Jewell insists he will not sell the 24-year-old. Webster, who signed in the summer, has not featured for Wigan's first team since making a mistake which cost a goal in the 3-2 victory over Charlton on November 11. That prompted speculation he is keen to return north but Jewell said: "I've not heard anything about that. Andy has come in and found the pace of the Premier League a shock, as most players do, especially as he didn't have a pre-season. "I've had a chat with him, he knows what I'm looking for, so hopefully he can get back in the team and stay there." |
