Dean Shiels Appeal

The Scottish Football Association today received an appeal from Hibernian Football Club on the red card received by Dean Shiels in the match against Heart of Midlothian on Tuesday. The appeal was made on the grounds that the player was shown a straight red card for violent conduct, and it was not felt that this was a true reflection on the incident.

The SFA Appeals Committee was convened this afternoon and Hibernian F.C. and the player have been informed that the appeal has been dismissed and the decision of the referee confirmed. As a result Dean will not be available for selection for the game against Dunfermline at Easter Road tomorrow.
