Gogua joins Kingston in signing for Hearts

HEARTS have completed their second piece of transfer business of the week by signing the Georgian international midfielder Gogita Gogua on loan until the end of the season. Gogua, 23, joins from Spartak Nalchik and joins Ghana international Laryea Kingston at the Tynecastle club.

Kingston, 26, has also agreed an initial loan agreement with the view to a three-and-a-half year deal. Work permits have yet to be secured for the pair, but Hearts expect them to be granted.

The midfielders are unlikely be involved in tomorrow's SPL game at Rangers. Hearts head coach Valdas Ivanauskas said: "Gogua and Kingston have signed until the summer on loan and then afterwards we are looking to agree long-term deals for them both.

"They will be available for the weekend, but I think there is only a very small chance they will play. Their chance will come after."

Kingston and Gogua join up with fellow January recruits Eduardas Kurskis, David Templeton, Arkadiusz Klimek and Arnas Lekevicius at Tynecastle.

Meanwhile, Hearts assistant head coach Stephen Frail has hit out at claims his players are cheats following Falkirk defender Darren Barr's controversial red card at Tynecastle on Saturday.

Barr was sent off in the closing stages of his side's 1-0 defeat after confronting Andrius Velicka when he was fouled by the Hearts striker.

The Lithuanian fell over theatrically and referee Steve Conroy later told Falkirk head coach John Hughes that he thought the 21-year-old had head-butted Velicka.

Falkirk have appealed against the decision and the Scottish Football Association will rule on the matter today. Kilmarnock assistant Billy Brown, who once held the same position at Tynecastle, criticised the "disgusting" behaviour of Velicka.

But Frail told Hearts News: "I can understand the feelings of the coaching staff at Falkirk but we have dealt with it. I am very disappointed with how other people have jumped on the bandwagon seeing us as an easy target.

"I read that we're a team with a lot of cheats in it and we've been doing it for several seasons. We're just looking to do our job here. Other people should just look at their own club and just focus on their players and nobody else. To be branded cheats is very disappointing."

• Hearts midfielder Matthew Doherty, 19, last night moved to Cowdenbeath on loan until the end of the season.
