Gordon in the dark over Hearts' intentions

HEARTS goalkeeper Craig Gordon says he is being kept in the dark about the Tynecastle club's plans for his future.

The Scotland No 1, along with team-mate Paul Hartley, was left out of the side to play Rangers in the Bank of Scotland Premierleague at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon. In another bizarre turn of events at the Gorgie club, it was first claimed by coach Valdas Ivanauskas that Gordon had a groin injury and was being rested to aid his recovery. But this suggestion has since been refuted by the keeper.

Gordon, 24, is being courted by several clubs and Fulham have already expressed interest in the goalkeeper. The Premiership club had a £2.5million bid rejected earlier this month and reports yesterday claimed the club have now dropped their interest after also having an increased bid turned down. Gordon, like Hartley, has also been linked with a move to SPL rivals Rangers but he said yesterday that he has heard nothing since being dropped for the 0-0 draw at Ibrox.

He said: "The club said they were in the middle of negotiating my transfer and I've not heard anything since.

"I wasn't aware of which club it was - I'm not aware of any interest from anybody. If the club know who it is then they have been very quiet and they have not said anything to me. But I'm sure if they have got something to say then they'll say it soon."

However Gordon has stated in the past his preference to remain at Hearts and is adamant that he will not be pushed out of the Tynecastle door against his wishes. He said: "I'm only open for suggestions if it is good for my career. I've made my decisions so far for football reasons and I'm going to continue to do that. So I'm only going to leave here if it is right for me."

Meanwhile, Hearts have been given the go-ahead to sign midfielder Laryea Kingston on an initial six-month deal, after the Ghanaian was granted a work permit.

However, Hearts have failed in their bid to land Georgian international midfielder Gogita Gogua on similar terms. Having had an initial work permit application for Gogua turned down by the Home Office, the club lost its appeal in front of a review panel held at Hampden yesterday.

Hearts striker Michal Pospisil has turned down the chance of moving to Bristol City. The clubs had agreed a fee of £100,000 for the Czech player but he could not agree personal terms with the English League One side.

Pospisil's agent Elliot van Til said: "Michal was very flattered by the interest shown by Bristol City and he was very impressed by the manager. But he's decided to stay with Hearts and fight for his place. He'll review the situation at the end of the season."
